I’ve been hearing a lot of concerns about CTF Loader (ctfmon.exe) being a virus or malware, and I’m curious about its true nature. So, what is CTF loader, and how can I differentiate it from a malicious file?

The reason I ask is that sometimes this process behaves strangely and seems to cause issues like slowing down my system or appearing unexpectedly in task manager. I ran a full virus scan, and nothing came up, but I’m still unsure whether it's safe.

Have any of you faced this issue? How do you determine ifctf loader is truly part of the Windows system or if it has been hijacked by malicious software?
